Who are we?

Vivamus comprises of a number of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists. We have worked with people with mild to severe difficulties, in a variety of settings including the NHS, voluntary organisations, as well as the private and corporate sectors. We believe in delivering high quality interventions to those who want to make a difference to their lives. We draw upon cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, humanistic and systemic approaches in order to provide an integrative treatment tailored to meet the needs and preferences of the individual.

Dr. Katherine Boucher (BSc (Joint Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My areas of particular interest are relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I specialise in helping people explore longer-term difficulties.

Dr. Terry Boucher (BSc (Hons), Dip Psych, MSc, PsychD in Psychotherapeutic and Counselling Psychology)

I am interested in how people come to view their identity and specialise in working with clients who report difficulties associated with anxiety, depression, stress, and chronic pain.

Dr. Marie Thompson (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My areas of particular interest include trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), low self-esteem, depression and anxiety.

Dr. Claire Russon (BA (Exon), MSc, PsychD in Clinical Psychology

I have worked with both adults and children in various settings, and am currently specialising in child and family work. I have particular interests in low mood and anxiety in the postnatal and antenatal periods, parenting with children of all ages, and intra-familial relationships (including couples).

Dr. Emma Cotterill (BSc. (Hons), PG Cert, PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My particular area of interest include eating disorders including binge eating, weight problems and obesity, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression and anxiety disorders, in addition to working with people who have suffered a brain injury and their family/carers.

Dr. Marie Baxter (MSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

I enjoy working across the life span and specialise with working with children and adolescents. I am especially interested in helping individuals (and families) experiencing challenging behaviour, issues associated with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD and relationship difficulties.

Dr. Katy Robjant (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

I am particularly interested in working with people who have experienced trauma, bereavements and other losses. I also work with people who are experiencing difficulties adjusting to different life circumstances.

Dr. Tamara Anderson (BSc (Hons), MSc, PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My areas of special interest are relationship and sexual difficulties, self-esteem issues, low mood/depression and anxiety. I am interested in both time-limited therapy for circumscribed problems and longer-term therapy for more chronic difficulties.

Dr. Carly Dodson (BSc (Hons), PgDip, PsychD in Counselling Psychology)

I have a specialised interest in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and difficulty adjusting to life changes including traumatic events. I have further experience working with children on the autistic spectrum and providing therapy for the family. I work with people on time limited therapies and specialise in longer-term therapy for enduring difficulties.

Dr. Sylvia Hejda-Forde (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My areas of particular interest are: identity and self-esteem issues in relation to various types of trauma and interpersonal relationships as well as depression and anxiety in both the acute and chronic forms. I am fluent in Polish and also speak Brazilian Portuguese.

Dr. Rachel Brindley (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

I have a specialist interest in working with adults and young people who are experiencing difficulties with worry/anxiety, low mood/depression and issues relating to self-esteem. I also work with people suffering from long term physical health conditions, as well as working with carers.

Dr. Helen Hughes (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

I am particularly interested in working with people with mood disorders, including mood instability, depression, anxiety, and those who self-harm and have difficulty tolerating intense emotions. I also work with people who have experienced trauma and loss.

Dr. Caroline Lawlor (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My areas of particular interest include providing support in relation to low self-esteem, emotional difficulties and traumatic experiences. I also have experience working with more severe and long-standing difficulties.

Dr. Susan Brannick (BA (Hons), MSc, PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My interests include trauma, specifically post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as generalised anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression. I have experience of supporting people (and their family members) who have experienced a head injury or have a neurodegenerative disorder.

Dr. Laura Haigh (BSc. (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)

My particular areas of interest include depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and body dysmorphic disorder. I have worked with both adults and children in a number of settings and currently work in the NHS providing CBT to adult clients.

Ms. Jo Williams (BSc. (Hons), MSc.)

I enjoy working with both adolescents and adults as they face common reactions to every day life situations including stress, anxiety and depression. I believe in working at the client's pace utilising both short and longer more exploratory forms of therapy.
