Clinical Psychology in The Netherlands

Vivamus Psychologists have expanded into The Netherlands.

Vivamus Psychologists provides a clinical psychological service in and around The Hague. Operating under our umbrella philosophy, While we live, let us live, Vivamus' psychologists offer day and evening appointments to individuals, couples and groups, adults and young people in both native English, native Dutch and native Russian.

Dr Marie Thompson

Dr Marie Thompson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and is experienced in working with adults and young people with a range of difficulties, such as stress, anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, trauma, eating disorders, relationship difficulties and obsessive compulsive disorder. Dr Thompson is also aware of the adjustment that is required to live within an expat community and of the impact that this can have on well being, self esteem and relationships.

She has experience of working within the National Health Service and private practice in the UK, as well as working in corporate organisations and the voluntary sector. She is experienced in neuropsychological assessment and undertaking medico-legal assessments and preparing court reports.

She uses a range of evidence based psychological interventions which are recommended by NICE. Dr Thompson is a native English speaker and a member of NIP ( Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen).

Drs Esther Haayema

Drs Esther Hayeema is particularly interested in working with people who have experienced a traumatic event and who suffer from trauma related stress. She has experience of working with people with relationship difficulties, anxiety and mood disorders. Drs Hayeema is a native Dutch speaker and offers therapy in Dutch, English and Spanish. She works with both adults and young people.

Door haar ervaring in de eerste lijn heeft Dr Haayema met veel verschillende psychische problemen bezig gehouden, waaronder stemmingsstoornissen en angstproblematiek. Mijn specifieke interesse gaat uit naar mensen die nare gebeurtenissen hebben meegemaakt en als gevolg hiervan post traumatische stress hebben ontwikkeld. Daarnaast houd ze zicht bezig met het ontstaan van en het omgaan met milde persoonlijkheidsproblematiek. Dr Haayema's moedertaal is Nederlands, maar kan tevens in het Engels en eventueel in het Spaans behandeling kunnen aanbieden.
