Dr. Katherine Boucher (BSc (Hons), PsychD in Clinical Psychology)
I have been working as a Clinical Psychologist since 2007, when I qualified from the University of Surrey with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Throughout my career as an Assistant Psychologist, Trainee Psychologist and qualified Clinical Psychologist I have had a specialist interest within the NHS of working within secure settings with individuals who present as a risk to others. During this work I have developed skills in risk assessment, cognitive assessment, personality assessment, working with victims and perpertrators of trauma, and in working with individuals with complex and long term psychological difficulites. I also undertake expert assessments and reports for the Court.
In my private practice I am particularly interested in working with people with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and with individuals who have experienced trauma and loss. I work using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but also undertake longer-term psychotherapy for more entrenched difficulties and where a more explorative therapy is appropriate.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as well as being a member of The British Psychological Society. I am also a Partner of Vivamus Psychologists.
