Dr Yap is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 9 years experience in the NHS and independent sector. During this time, she has worked with a range of client groups across the life span: adults, older adults, and children/adolescents.   She is experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety, work related stress, issues relating to perfectionism, low self-esteem, loss/grief, and anger. Dr Yap uses a range of evidence based therapeutic skills and approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness based therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy  tailored to suit the client and the nature of their difficulties. She offers daytime, evening and weekend appointments in a discreet and welcoming environment in South East London. Dr Yap is committed to providing high quality psychological interventions, often short term in nature, to provide clients with the tools they need to make positive changes in their lives.

Additional Specialist Provision
Dr Yap currently works within a HIV and Sexual health clinic in the independent sector, where she offers specialist assessment and treatment of problems including psychosexual problems, pain on intercourse, loss of libido, health anxiety, trauma, and difficulties coping with sexual health diagnoses such as HIV and Herpes. She also sees couples with relationship difficulties.

Dr Yap is registered with the Health Professionals Council. She has chartered status with the British Psychological Society and is a member of their Division of Clinical Psychology, and Faculty of Clinical Health Psychology.  She is a member of the European Society for Sexual Medicine. She has presented at conferences at both a national and international level.
