Dr Sylvia Hejda-Forde

Dr Hejda-Forde has been practicing as a clinical psychologist in the NHS and privately since qualifying from University College London in 2009. She specializes in adult mental health treating individuals and couples with anxiety disorders and depression. She uses a formulation-based approach which is tailored to the needs of the particular client at the time of their presentation for treatment. The main mode of treatment is cognitive-behavioural therapy. This may be supplemented by drawing from the systemic, schema, psychodynamic and compassionate mind frameworks.

Sylvia has trained in the Enhanced Cognitive-Behavioural and the Integrative Models for treating couples with relationship problems where there is a significant impact on mood for one or both partners.

Sylvia has extensive experience in neuropsychological assessment of cognitive function in patients with acquired brain injury.

Sylvia is fluent in Polish, English and Brazilian Portuguese and is able to offer assessment and therapy in these languages.
